I just listened to a podcast yesterday with my bud Ed Mylett and he had Lauren Evarts Bosstick & Michael Bosstnik on...they said that audio (aka podcasts) are really the best use of people's time--so I decided that I'd embrace recording my message today on vox--a pseudo-podcast, maybe? Will see where all this goes--they also affirmed WHY I'm doing this: community building & adding value to others lives.
Today for Transformation Thursday I took words directly from Philippians Chapter 4 to help us think anew...meaning we all too often (per the truth of Neuroscientist Dr. Joe Dispenza) we are thinking in the recent past, and we can continue to relive our 'familiar past' and repeat our lives. When we have an emotional reaction that we don't choose to get past and we keep waking up reminding ourselves of what we were feeling bad or frustrated, or discouraged by--we perpetuate it: on long emotional reaction that becomes a mood, that sustained long enough suddenly seems (or so we say) to just be 'part of who are are'. Well YES--you are a child of God (Psalm 139) and we are all a 'piece of work' (HIS work that is) but God made you in his image and God does not go around having long emotional reactions to things! Remember, he is "slow to anger and rich in mercy" so when you say "I'm just prone to having a short fuse"--well, friends...that isn't how GOD made you! You had one big long emotional reaction to something and when you get a trigger, you just might be set off! SO as the words of Paul to the Philippians state: having no anxiety....dwelling on all that is good, kind and excellent...you will find peace that surpasses all understanding. THAT takes intention. But that's what God wired us for: peace, love and joy.
So today, listen in, and consider changing up your routine. What do you start with each day? Maybe start with Jesus--specifically in his word, or invite him into that 'moody moment' to sit with you and help you get over around or through it...so you can be TRANSFORMED! You can do it braveheart! Excellence is our goal this year...as in Circle of Excellence, so dwelling on excellence is our means to that great accomplishment! Be blessed Lifebuilder!
Dwelling on all things excellent,
Melissa
PS if you missed watching the youtube video I shared yesterday, take some time today! Your holy moments and your transformation have everything to do with what you think and believe!
